"The O'Donnell Brothers give a sketch that is out of the common, and deserving of great credit. It is pretty and with a touch of true nature in it. They do not rely on the usual slip-shod methods, but act their sketch conscientously and creditably. The brothers are good musicians and render old Irish airs on the bagpipes and violin in a skillful manner. Their act is very pleasing."

Derby, Conn. 'Presented with Violin
'The O'Donnell Bros., who made such a decided hit with the large audiences at the Sterling opera house during the past week in their pleasing sketch, "In Dear Old Ireland," spent Sunday in this city as the guests of friends, all of whom they made during their short stay here. The brothers have a very appealing act. While not elaborate it is made significant by one of the finest and truest portrayals of Irish character so rarely attained behind the footlights and the many who appreciated their work have during the past week taken great pains to show their esteem for them and they leave this city with many congratulations and presents and good wishes for success. Messrs. O'Donnell have a record of unprecedented successes since they put on this new act. During their stay in Brockton they were presented with a rare old violin by an admirer which attested in a measure the admiration they commanded from those who witnessed their act. The violin was used all last week and Mr. O'Donnell proposes to continue to use it in the future, for it brings his act much nearer to perfection.'

Bernard O'Donnell.
"... died yesterday at his home, 213 Franklin avenue, where he conducted a conservatory of music. ... He was born in Manhattan seventy years ago, and for many years was organist and choirmaster in St. Patrick's Church. In early life he was organist of St. Lawrence's Church, Manhattan. For the past twenty-seven years [since 1889?] he had been connected with the Board of Education as music professor in the elementary and high schools. ... He was the first music teacher in the Eastern District High School, and was an authority on Irish music. He is survived by his widow, Helen Fitzpatrick O'Donnell, who is well known as a singer."

"O'Donnell Bros., playing at the Colonial Theatre in their 20 minute act entitled: "In Dear Old Ireland," is the big hit of the show. None of the average Burlesque is used in this comedy, but simply portraying the Irishman in every day life, true to nature. Ed. O'Donnell plays the violin and bagpipes and by the way he handles the instruments, it is easy to be seen he knows how to use them."

"Norwich Conn
"The O'Donnell Bros., Irish pipers and dancers, have a sketch that is brim full of comedy and yet there are spots where they interject a little pathos that appeals to the heart of every hearer. The old man's fiddling pleased and the piper rendered the old Irish airs that drew rounds of applause. While many never heard an Irish piper before there were many there Monday night who will go again to hear the weird skirling of the pipes."

"STERLING THEATER ... The O'Donnell Bros. in their realistic sketch, "Reminiscences of Ould Ireland," pleased immensely, aside from being exceptionally good portrayers of Irish characters. Both boys are individually clever musicians, the set of bag-pipes used by one of the young gentlemen was the object of much admiration by the audiences at both performances."
Most likely candidate is Sterling Theatre in Derby, CT, active at least 1913-20, played vaudeville. See The Julius Cahn-Gus Hill Theatrical Guide and Moving Picture Directory, Volumes 16-17 (Google eBook)

'New York Theatre ... Monday afternoon, March 27,[1911]....
'The vaudeville consisted of eight acts, and every one of them well worth seeing. Indeed, many of the big-time houses have not equalled it in merit....
'Full of comedy and sentiment is the act offered by the O'Donnell Bros. The bagpipe and the violin are cleverly played by the brothers during the action of the sketch. One of the brothers is the best "old man" the writer has seen in some time.'

'The sixteenth annual concert and ball of Division No. 5 [sic], Ancient Order of Hibernians, attracted a crowd which filled the Rondout opera house to overflowing on Friday night. A fine program of vocal selections and dancing was rendered and O'Donnell Brothers gave the comedy, "Ould Times," which served to introduce old Irish songs and bag pipe selections. The entertainment was by far the best ever given in connection with the Hibernian ball.

'O'DONNELL BROTHERS PLEASE
"Local theatregoers, who have been clamoring all season for a first-class vaudeville act, will be pleased to learn that the act being presented by the O'Donnell brothers at the Opera House compares favorably with acts given in leading vaudeville houses in this part of the state. The act consists of comedy, pathos and music and is bound to please. It was loudly applauded last evening and all who saw it pronounced it the best given here.
"Edward O'Donnell is a talented bagpipe player, who received an award at the World's Fair at Chicago. Cornelius represents an aged Irishman playing a violin. While he is playing a typical Irish air, Edward steals in and joins his brother in playing the same tune on the pipes. The motions that Cornelius makes as he hears the pipes is alone worth the price of admission. Cornelius then entertains the audience with a dance, although he begs his brother to stop playing as he is too old to continue the dance. He finally collapses on the stage. After being picked up, they bid each other good night, and Cornelius renders that old favorite, "Home Sweet Home," in a very impressive manner.'

The scrapbook clipping is not column one, but it is otherwise identical; perhaps a different edition?
The clipping mentions the Opera House. The Cahn-Hill Theater Guide lists the Gilmore theatre, which at one time was known as the Gilmore Opera House.
